
THE Assembly has passed the Nakuru County Trade Bill 2019 to spearhead promotion, development of the local economic and private sector.
Once accented to, the bill will help regulate and promote the development in the trade sector.
“Trade and Promotion development will be done by carrying out business profiling within the county, reviewing policies and practices that affect business climate and advising the county executive committee on appropriate measures to be adopted for promoting trade development,” read part of the bill.
The Bill which was sponsored by Hon Paul Langat will also facilitate access to markets for goods and services produced in the county and provide inter-sectoral linkages among players in private sector within and outside the county.
The bill is also set to facilitate establishment of business and industrial parks, centers to facilitate trade development.
The business and industrial parks and centers include; technology parks, business incubation parks, special service zones and special economic zones targeting general business processes or manufacturing sectors
