The House has passed and adopted a report on Implementation status of projects under Nakuru Level Five, Annex, Mother Baby wing and the executive undertakings.
The Implementation Committee on Tuesday afternoon passed the motion with recommendations that Nakuru Level Five Annex to automate its revenue collection to ensure transparency in revenue collection.
The report also recommended Level Five Annex management through the Department of Health Services should expedite installation of CCTV cameras at the hospital for to boost security level at the facility.
However, the committee noted that Level Five Annex had not yet installed CCTV Cameras due to budget constraint.
“The Department of Health Services should allocate funds for construction of a perimeter wall at Level Five Hospital Annex to enhance security. The construction of the outpatient complex at Level Five should also be within the stipulated timeline as laid down in the contract documents,” read part of the report.
The committee however cited challenges at the Five owing to influx of patients from surrounding counties seeking services leading to constraints on the available resources.
“Construction of the perimeter wall at Level Five had not commenced due to lack of funding from the County Government. Revenue raised by the facility could not sustain the project,” read part of the report.
It also indicated the hospital ambulance was not in operation due to frequent breakdowns and high maintenance costs. Further the hospital lacked a utility vehicle.
