The County Assembly of Nakuru has today passed a motion urging the county government to install CCTV cameras in all the major public and private hospitals across the county.
The motion which was sponsored by Nominated MCA Hon. Joyce Anyiso aims at curbing cases of rape, robbery and disappearance of infants in health facility centers in the county.
While debating the motion, the MCAs who took to the floor of the house said the motion was timely as the CCTV cameras will be able to highlight on how the medics render their services to the Wanjiku.
The motion comes barely three weeks after cases of women being raped and infants being stolen were reported at Kenyatta National Hospital.
Hon. Anyiso also said the CCTV cameras will greatly help in providing surveillance for the drugs which disappear mysteriously in most of the public health facility.
The motion was later put into question by Deputy Speaker Hon. Samuel Tonui where the Honorable Members approved it.
