The House this afternoon receives a petition from the Ward Climate Change Planning Committee, Nakuru East Ward and the Project Management Committee (PMC) – Muguga Greenhouse. The petition calls for an audit of the Muguga Greenhouse Project, which was expected to be completed by August 2025. Hon. William Mutai has tabled two key documents. 1. The County Government of Nakuru Budget Review and Outlook Paper, 2025 and them 2. Local Physical and Land Use Development Plans for Turi, Naishi Soweto, Gitare and Langwenda centres covering the years 2025–2035. Hon. Members are also seeking statements from various committee chairpersons on issues affecting their wards, including the construction of a boundary wall at PGH Annex in Menengai Ward, the growing challenge of illicit brews and insecurity at Karunga Market in Kabatini Ward and the persistent stormwater overflow in Wendo, Kabatini Ward. Committee chairpersons are responding to earlier statements on matters touching on health, agriculture, land ownership, youth empowerment, infrastructure and revenue collection.
THIRD ASSEMBLY (FOURTH SESSION) HOUSE PEOCEEDINGS, AFTERNOON SESSION 15TH OCTOBER 2025
The Labour, Gender and Social Welfare Committee, chaired by Hon. Grace Mwathi, lays a report on the vetting of nominees to the Nakuru County Public Service Board. The House is set to consider a motion seeking the approval of Ms. Mbarera Lekuchula, Ms. Linner Chesang Rotich, Mr. Joseph Kimani Njuguna and Mr. David Njoroge Kung’u for appointment to the Board. During Statements hour, various Committee Chairpersons are scheduled to issue statements on key service delivery matters, including: 1. The status of health facilities and delayed laboratory equipment, 2. Agricultural projects and fertilizer distribution, 3. Land ownership and title deed issuance, 4. Youth empowerment equipment distribution, and 5. Operationalization of county markets and infrastructure projects.

The House tables a report of the Committee on Agriculture on the petition by residents of Bahati seeking the adoption of Embryo transplant technology for dairy farming in Nakuru County. The Report is tabled by Hon. Isabela Makori, Chairperson of the Committee on Agriculture. It highlights residents’ call for modern breeding technologies to boost dairy productivity and improve the county’s livestock genetics.

The House today lays the PAIC Report on the Auditor General’s examination of Elburgon Sub-County Level 4 Hospital’s financial statements for the year ending June 30, 2023. Hon. James Gathuita (Dundori) lays the paper on behalf of PAIC Chair, Hon. Simon Kamau, who also gives notice of a motion for the House to adopt the report.
